The San Antonio Spurs and head coach Gregg Popovich are planning a return with retired star Manu Ginobili. But, it isn't in a player role. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Spurs are bringing Ginobili on in a special role as an advisor to basketball operations.

The Spurs have been clamoring for Ginobili to join them since he retired and he is finally making his return to the NBA ranks as an advisor for the Spurs. Ginobili has been out of the league for a few years and will now slot in on a talented staff that includes Popovich and Tim Duncan, to name a few.

According to Marc Stein, the Spurs announced a giant slew of promotions within the franchise with Ginobili being the biggest addition.

Having a four-time NBA champion help with player development is definitely a good thing for the Spurs, who are in a bit of a youth movement with a ton of young talent on the roster. He should offer a ton of help and advice to the young roster.

So, get used to seeing Popovich, Ginobili, and Duncan back together once again. The 2021-2022 NBA season is right around the corner with training camp approaching and Ginobili is back with the Spurs.
