It is a sad day in the NBA as San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili announced Monday that he will not be returning to the league for his 17th season.

After the news broke that Ginobili will retire, the Spurs were quick to post a tribute video to one of their all-time best players.

The clip encompasses Ginobili's career highlights, from slinging one-handed lefty passes with mind-blowing accuracy, to nailing clutch 3-pointers in the playoffs, to surprising everyone with athleticism that allowed him to posterize many a defender.

The four-time NBA champion leaves behind a legacy in San Antonio that will be hard to top. The Argentinean played all 16 of his NBA seasons in a Spurs uniform and fast became a fan favorite. He is the last of the “Big Three” that won the four championships to leave the Spurs since Tim Duncan is long retired and Tony Parker is now a Charlotte Hornet.

Ginobili posted career averages of 13.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting an extremely efficient 45 percent from the floor and 37 percent from downtown.

Even though Ginobili was a legit star, he rarely started games, as coach Gregg Popovich preferred to unleash him upon opposing second units.

While many guys of that talent would flat out refuse to not start, Ginobili took on his role humbly and realized that his coming off the bench would help the team win games.

Throughout his career, Ginobili was always worth the price of admission to watch play, and more importantly, a class act. He will be sorely missed.
