Valve surprised the gaming world by revealing the Steam Deck. Steam Deck, which many call the Nintendo Switch killer, turns out to be the rumored Steam Pal we reported last month.

Now, the Steam Deck's promised to arrive just in time for Holiday 2021. That will still remain true for those who were lucky enough to reserve for one. But within just a few days of its announcement, reservation slots for the Steam Deck have already been full. Because of this, scalpers have become brazen enough to try to sell the new handheld console for outrageous prices on eBay.

So now, if you want to get a Steam Deck of your own but still haven't secured a reservation, then you're out of luck. The earliest you can get one if you reserve yours today would be by next year. How late? According to PC Gamer, reservations for the $649 512GB will be fulfilled by Q3 2022. For the $399 64GB and $529 256GB versions, you'll get yours by Q1 or Q2 2022.

Steam Deck looks like a powerful beast of a handheld device but comes at the cost of a heavier frame. It also has a lot of cool features that put it above the recently-announced Nintendo Switch OLED. Now it feels like the Nintendo Switch only has its first-party and unique titles to support it. Apart from that, it feels like Valve's own take is the better choice between the two.
