It has been a nightmare start for Ben Roethlisberger and his Pittsburgh Steelers offense. Even in the Steelers' lone victory of the season against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, Roethlisberger and the offense struggled to move the ball and put points on the board.
Things were really ugly in a 24-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this past weekend, and many are now wondering if Big Ben is cooked. Well, the Steelers veteran is here to tell you that he thinks things are about to get better soon:
Roethlisberger says he's a still a part of forming the gameplan & is optimistic about the O-“There’s not this one big glaring thing. It’s a little thing here. A little thing there. Which I think is why we can be encouraged as an offense that it’s not that far off.”

Roethlisberger said his health was 'not bad' and better the last few days. Says he will keep plugging along

Roethlisberger-“We need to just execute the plays that are called. Our coach does a great job of taking the blame and he doesn’t need to take any more. We as players need to take more accountability and blame that the plan is right. We need to execute the plan & make it work.”

On the season, the Steelers are averaging just 16.7 points per game and 308.3 yards per game. Both marks rank toward the bottom of the NFL, and Roethlisberger's poor play has been a big reason why. At 39 years old, he's struggling with his mobility and his arm isn't close to what it once was, resulting in some embarrassing plays.
It doesn't help matters that Roethlisberger is also dealing with a pec injury, which is only making it even tougher on him to succeed. The Steelers quarterback has a 79.0 quarterback rating through three games and has tossed three interceptions.
Perhaps Big Ben will find his groove again and help turn this Steelers offense around. But it's certainly not pretty right now, and we'll see how long Mike Tomlin will put up with it if things don't get better soon. As much as Roethlisberger has meant to this franchise over the years, they need to know when to pull the plug if it's not working.
