Another game, another sack. But this time, it's history. On Sunday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers broke the league record for most consecutive regular season games with at least one sack.

The feat was made after DE Tyson Alaulu recorded a sack in the second quarter against the Buffalos Bills, which now puts the Steelers with the longest NFL game streak with at least a sack in 70 straight games.

The previous record was at 69 games held by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who initially set the record over a span of five years from 1999 to 2003. The Steelers started their streak all the way back on November 6, 2016, and they're hoping to continue with the sack streak as they close out an incredible 2020 NFL regular season.

Although they've been consistent with their sacks, their playoff triumphs have been far from consistent. In the five seasons they've held this current sack streak, the Steelers have only made it to the postseason twice (2016, 2017).

This 2020, they want to make sure they write their own narrative. Pittsburgh has been relying heavily on their defense and so far, it has been working out great. With 11-1 regular season record so far, they've officially clinched a playoff berth and will make a return back to the playoffs after three campaigns.

The Steelers' defense has been running riot against the opposing squad all season long. Prior to Sunday's match against the Bills, they're second-best in the league in terms of total yards allowed (247.7) and third-best in terms of points per contest (13.3). The second quarter sack from Alaulu also puts their season total to 45, which is currently the best in the NFL this year.
