As the Pittsburgh Steelers are trying to win without Ben Roethlisberger, the team might have lost their superstar pass rusher in TJ Watt. This would be a less than ideal scenario, as the Detroit Lions are doing everything in their power to win this game.

According to Aditi Kinkhabwala, TJ Watt “grabbed for his knee” after sacking Jared Goff. The medical staff rushed to the field immediately. The Steelers can't afford to lose Watt, as he's the driving force of their team.

Things aren't looking great though, as according to Mark Kaboly, “Watt is in the blue tent and Heyward just walked in to see what's up.” It's rare to see another player go into the tent with his teammate. This could be a sign that Heyward knows the injury could be serious.

For now, all we can do is wait for an injury update on TJ Watt. He was able to walk off the field without any assistance, however, that doesn't mean he's okay. Bud Dupree also walked off the field without assistance when he tore his ACL in 2020 playing for the Steelers.

Pittsburgh is in a tight battle with the Lions in the fourth quarter. It's coming down to the wire as the score is tied 16-16 as of this writing. The Steelers need a victory to keep their postseason hopes alive. Losing TJ Watt could be detrimental, as the defense is what has kept this franchise competitive.

The Steelers also lost Joe Haden in this game, so Pittsburgh's defense is looking a bit vulnerable right now. Hopefully, Watt is fine and can come back. For now, he's been diagnosed with a hip injury, per Aditi Kinkhabwala.

Keep an eye on TJ Watt, as he's not officially ruled out just yet.
