The Big3 league had its inaugural draft on Sunday at The Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort Casino in Las Vegas. It was a much anticipated event as some of the best retired players from the NBA are already part of the league, while others can join it if they will be selected by one of the eight participating teams.

Lots of  familiar names were drafted, including Rashad McCants, who was selected first overall, and NBA veterans Reggie Evans and Kwame Brown who were both picked in the first round. However, the biggest name who was considered snubbed in the draft is former Rookie of the Year and three-time NBA All-Star Steve Francis.

Despite being available and even attending the Big 3 League Draft Combine, his name was surprisingly not selected and will become a free agent instead. He even made it known that he was excited to play once again and even shared a photo of him to his Twitter followers appearing to be in shape and ready to compete.

During his playing days in the league, Francis made a name for himself as an exciting player with mad hops and flashy dunks. He spent nine years in the NBA, and had career averages of 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.

It remains unclear if the competing teams of the Big3 league will be given the opportunity to add more players from the free agency market. Should that be the case, Stevie Franchise will still have the chance to make a roster and show everyone that he can still play.
