Steve Francis aka ‘Steve Franchise' was once a high-flying All-Star full of confidence and glad to represent the Houston Rockets.
He was once considered an elite guard in the NBA as the face of the city of Houston during his prime years. Recurring knee injuries sidelined him later in his career and eventually forced him to retire early.
Francis has since been spotted sparingly on the internet but not as we remember him. A photo was taken where he appeared to be sickly, but he later denied having health issues or using drugs.
On one occasion he was seen in a club intoxicated and later being choked by former NBA player Stephen Jackson.
In a recent news report, Francis turned himself into the hands of police on a warrant for committing burglary. All of his post-NBA troubles stem from substance abuse problems, according to his ex-wife.
In a TMZ-obtained report, Shelby Francis claims he has severe substance issues and wants a divorce. Not only is the former All-Star in the middle of a divorce but is facing five years in prison if he is convicted on felony burglary charges.
After making over $103 million in his playing career, Francis' life is spiraling down faster than a whirlpool.
