Since being drafted 13th overall back in 2015, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has been proving that he will be a future star of the league. With his ability to score in different ways, he has emerged as a big time scorer for his team, and someone who is not afraid to take shots even if a game is on the line.

Only in his third season and having played 165 games, the 21-year-old Kentucky product has rewritten the record books, becoming the fourth youngest player in NBA history to reach 3,000 points in his career. He is only behind LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony, in the elite list.

Booker picked up where he left off so far this season, and is averaging impressive numbers of 22.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 32.3 minutes per game. More importantly, he has led the Suns to a relatively decent 4-6 record in the tough Western Conference, with a chance to improve on it in their upcoming games. Despite all the distractions his team is currently surrounded with, he has continued to play at a high level, proving further his potential to be an a future All-Star.

Many believe the Suns are only a few key pieces away from becoming a playoff contender in their conference. If they can speed up the development of some of their young players, and even acquire savvy veterans, they could emerge as a team of the future, and will be a very tough team to beat in the coming years, as long as they’ll have Booker in their fold.
