The Phoenix Suns have opened the NBA restart with a perfect 5-0 record, and Devin Booker is feeling confident about the team's prospects going forward.

The Suns' star guard said he feels the team found something in Orlando, adding the club has grown more consistent in the past week-plus.

Via Nick Friedell of ESPN:

“I think this is just kind of a turning point for us,” Booker said after scoring 35 points and dishing out six assists in the 119-112 victory. “We had stretches in the season where we played very well, but as what happens to a young team throughout the season, you have your ups and downs. I think if we stay consistent and stick with our principles — the communication on defense, just getting more comfortable in these situations of games and meaningful games that matter for us.”

The Suns have stormed back into playoff contention.

Phoenix is currently just a half-game back of the Portland Trail Blazers for the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference, and just two games back of the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. The Suns have every opportunity to reach a play-in tournament for the final playoff spot in the West, particularly if Booker continues to excel.

Booker has been especially dominant in the last four games, averaging 30.0 points, 7.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds while posting a 63.2 percent true shooting mark. Booker also stole a game against the Los Angeles Clippers with a remarkable game-winner on Tuesday.

Draymond Green was fined on Sunday for saying Phoenix is not a good situation for Booker. However, it seems Booker is embracing his role as a leader for a Suns team potentially on the verge of a big jump. Even if they don't get a playoff spot this season, they seem primed for a big 2020-21 campaign.
