Deandre Ayton's absence has been a huge blow for the Phoenix Suns, which is why the team has finally made a move to sign a temporary replacement for him in Bismack Biyombo.

Ayton has been in the health and safety protocols since Monday, and ever since then, the Suns have won just one of their four games. They lost to the Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies and, most recently, to the Boston Celtics.

In fact in their showdown with the Celtics, the Suns got obliterated in the paint, allowing the Beantown team to score 64 points in the said area. Center Robert Williams III absolutely feasted with his first career triple-double of 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. The Time Lord also collected two steals and five blocks in the memorable performance against the Suns.

With that obvious need for a big man in the middle, the Suns opted to sign Biyombo on a 10-day deal via the hardship exemption. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there is also a chance that the deal is extended based on Phoenix's needs.

Bismack Biyombo, who was drafted seventh overall in the 2011 NBA Draft, spent the past three seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. While his offense leaves much to be desired, he could be a solid rebounder and shot-blocker for the Suns–something they really need right now.

The 29-year-old has career averages of 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

Hopefully, Biyombo can help stop the bleeding at the center spot for the Suns while they wait for Deandre Ayton's return.
