On Christmas day, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony made his young fan's day by giving him a brand new car following his courageous battle over the past 18 months against a rare form of cancer called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis.

A week after receiving his gift from the nine-time All-Star, Jarrell Lara discussed what the car meant to him and his family.

He said it was more than just a mode of transportation for them but something that will serve as motivation for him to believe in himself more and that he can be successful at whatever he works hard for.

The 17-year-old fan also praised Anthony for giving him the opportunity to meet his favorite basketball player and become a source of hope for him.

Before the interview ended, Lara also gave a message to other people who are going through a tough phase in their lives to never give up and keep their minds right.
