Remember when Tom Savage's agent was upset over the Houston Texans benching him in favor of rookie Deshaun Watson? That currently feels like forever ago, as the former Clemson Tigers talent is setting records all over the place.

This is, apparently, not lost on Tom Savage, who was caught giving Deshaun Watson a compliment by way of a question.

As shown on Inside the NFL, NFL Films caught Savage’s discussion with Watson did some incredible plays last weekend. Here is what the backup said to the current starter.

“That’s incredible, man. I don’t know how you do it. I really don’t,” Savage told Watson. “I would’ve pulled every muscle and both of my groins if I tried to do that.”

OK. That last part is legit funny. I guess Savage doesn't believe he has deceptive athleticism.

On Sunday, Watson became the first player in NFL history with at least 400 yards passing, 4 passing touchdowns and at least 55 yards rushing in the same game, according to the Texans’ public relations department. He finished the day 19 of 30 for 402 yards and 4 touchdowns through the air, and added a game-high 67 yards on the ground.

Obviously, Savage had plenty to be in awe over.

Through seven career games, Watson has 19 touchdown passes. According to ESPN, that is the most by any player in his first seven games in NFL history. ESPN also reported that his four 3-touchdown games this season are already the most by a rookie since the merger in 1970.

Clearly, Deshaun Watson is good at football.
