The Oklahoma City Thunder are lucky to have Chet Holmgren, and Gonzaga Bulldogs head coach Mark Few can attest to that.

But what's so good about Holmgren that will make Thunder fans more excited? Well, according to Few, Holmgren's work ethic and goal-oriented mindset make him a different breed and should allow him to thrive in Oklahoma City.

“He has a plan, and he is a worker. They're gonna have to physically remove him from the building at times because he'll stay down there, he'll work, he'll lift,” the Bulldogs tactician shared on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“He loves watching film with the staff. He's extremely driven. I knew that during the recruiting process, but to witness it firsthand was really, really impressive.”

Chet Holmgren showed during the Summer League that he's as good as advertised, or even better. His ability to shoot and block shots really stood out, making Thunder fans giddy that they got him with the second pick of the 2022 draft.

Of course concerns about his physique and thin frame have been. He gets easily bullied inside the painted area by bigger opponents, which is definitely going to be a huge problem in the NBA when he faces the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Steven Adams and other elite big men.

As Mark Few said, however, Holmgren works hard and tries to address his shortcomings like no other top prospect. While it might take time before he develops a body that can go toe-to-toe with the superstars of the league, there is no doubt he has the right mentality to reach his full potential.
