Shai Gilgeous-Alexander came up big on Saturday, draining a crucial 3-pointer down the stretch to help the Oklahoma City Thunder secure a 119-107 overtime win against the Houston Rockets.

After the Game 3 victory, Thunder All-Star point guard Chris Paul — who dished out the assist to SGA for the clutch shot — went into the details of how that key play went down.

“We talked about it in the huddle,” the Thunder vet started, via Logan Newman of USA TODAY SPORTS. “Said we wanted to try to go to a matchup. Once I got that matchup, I knew that help was going to have to come over from somewhere.

“So once I got by, the pass is easy. Shai had the hard part in knocking down the shot, and that was a big shot for us.”

Gilgeous-Alexander was quick to deflect the credit and instead heaped praise on his teammate for dishing out the perfect dime.

“Hats off to Chris. Hell of a pass,”Gilgeous-Alexander said “I just wanted to be ready to shoot it, and shoot it with confidence. I’ve shot so many of those shots, and the worked paid off and it went in.”

Here how the play went down:

Both players were instrumental for the Thunder in the victory, as they combined for 49 points (on 20-of-38 shooting) and seven triples.

Chris Paul added six boards, five assists, a steal and a block in 41 minutes of action. For his part, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also logged seven rebounds, six dimes, four steals and one block.

It was a huge victory for the Thunder, who are now just 2-1 down in the series. They have given themselves a shot at upsetting the Rockets, as opposed to going down to an insurmountable 3-0 disadvantage.

Game 4 of the Rockets-Thunder series is on Monday, Aug. 25.
