The Oklahoma City Thunder failed to get out of the first round of these playoffs against the Utah Jazz, which was a shame not only because they operated with a talented roster that featured three superstars in Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony, but also because this season also turned out to be the last in the NBA of big man Nick Collison. But at least, Collison is going to be rewarded with a film about his life and times as a Thunder.

Aptly titled “Mr. Thunder”, the said film is a documentary that will be shown for free on June 9 at the Myriad Gardens during the deadCenter Film Festival. Here are added details about the documentary, per deadCenter’s official website.

“MR. THUNDER” celebrates the earnest and authentic career of the 15-year NBA veteran who became a popular and important face of the Thunder franchise over his 10-year tenure in Oklahoma City. Set over the final two weeks of his playing career, Collison reflects on his time in the NBA, the work and approach required to make it happen, and the relationships that made it special. Thunder cameras followed Collison over the two-week stretch which included his final seven regular season games.

In an age where it has become a norm for players to move from one team to another, Nick Collison was among the rare types that spent his entire career with the same franchise that drafted him. Collison was selected 12th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics before the team relocated to Oklahoma City.

In 14 years in the NBA, Collison averaged 5.9 points, 5.2 rebounds in 20.4 minutes in 910 total games.
