Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant plans to return to Oklahoma City when the Thunder retire Nick Collison's No. 4 next month in what could be a rather awkward moment.

Durant, who spent the first nine years of his career with the Thunder organization before signing with the Warriors during the summer of 2016, says that he isn't worried about it at all:

“I just wanted to be there to see it,” said Durant, according to Erik Horne of The Oklahoman. “It isn't about nothing else. I just wanted to experience it, and what people think or what reaction they have, I can't control it. If they are still reacting to me after three years, then I'm not really the problem. I just wanted to experience that and be there first hand because I was there for those days that people didn't really see the work that we all put in as a group, so I definitely want to be there when something special like this goes up for him.”

You rarely see stars play their entire career with one NBA team anymore, let alone role players, but that is exactly what Collison did.

He was originally selected by the Seattle Supersonics in the first round (12th pick overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft. He missed his entire rookie season due to a shoulder injury, but made his debut for the franchise during the 2004-05 campaign.

Collison spent all 14 years with the organization, posting career averages of 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds over 20.4 minutes per game while shooting 53.4 percent from the floor.
