There's a new cat in town and he goes by the name of Aleksej Pokuševski. The Oklahoma City Thunder rookie just had a performance for the books on Sunday — literally — as he shattered a number of long-standing NBA records previously held by the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Pokuševski helped the Thunder to a 128-122 win over the Grizzlies behind a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double practically out of nowhere. As a result, the 19-year-old rookie just set a Thunder franchise scoring record (h/t Brandon Rahbar of the Daily Thunder):

The young Serbian did not stop there, his five triples on Sunday also put him in the same conversation with none other than LeBron James:

After the game, Pokuševski talked about his historic evening, but as it turns out, it's all about the W for this young stud:

“We won the game, that’s the most important thing,” he said. “I had a great game. My teammates helped me.”

For his part, Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not seem too surprised with his young teammate's recent outburst:

“We knew from day one he had confidence and feel for the game,” SGA said. “He’s getting better every day. My job is to make sure he stays positive and keeps it going.”

Aleksej Pokuševski. Remember the name. The Thunder appear to have unearthed a new star-in-the-making and he's on the brink of making waves in the NBA.

Pokuševski isn't going to be giving LaMelo Ball a run for his money for this season's Rookie of the Year award, but there's no denying that the future is bright for Poku.
