Paul George is now in an elite company after having a terrific 2018-19 NBA season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, George managed to accomplish a stat line only Michael Jordan has recorded before. The Thunder superstar became the second player to average at least 26 points, eight rebounds, 3.5 assists, and two steals in a season.

George is averaging 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game this season. On the other hand, Jordan averaged 32.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 2.9 steals for the Chicago Bulls during the 1988-89 NBA season, which is considered as one of the best seasons of the legendary guard's career.

The 28-year-old Fresno State standout had the best season of his career and is actually considered as one of the top Most Valuable Player candidates this season. He has also become a more serious threat from beyond the arc, as he averaged 3.8 three-point conversions per game.

George, who signed a fresh four-year deal worth $136.91 million last summer, is one of the main reasons why Thunder is considered as a big threat to the top teams in the West. The Thunder are currently sixth in the Western Conference standings with their 48-33 record.

He knocked down a game-winning three-pointer against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, which put his team in a better position in the playoffs. Instead of setting an early showdown with defending champions Golden State Warriors, the Thunder will now likely face the Houston Rockets or Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
