Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George, who was seen favoring his shoulder in the playoffs, is set to see a shoulder specialist outside Oklahoma.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti shared the news per Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman, noting that sooner or later, George's shoulder would have to be checked out at some point:

“Everyone felt comfortable with him playing… but everyone knew that when we got to the end of the season, he’d have to be looked at. And that hasn’t happened yet.”

For the regular season, George missed a total of four games due to shoulder soreness. In the playoffs, he was seen several times favoring the shoulder, even stretching it out after draining a 3-pointer.

George, for his part, also answered questions about the injury. Though he did not reveal specifics about it, he doubted if he'll be ready for the preseason. But one thing's for sure, his shoulder needs to be fixed soon.

“I'm not sure of the exact timetable on it,” he said. “Again, we're still trying to put a plan together on how to address it, and you know, what needs to be done.”

The good thing about the Thunder's situation is that Paul George has ample room to recover if ever he undergoes surgery.
