As part of the 2020 Sloan Conference, former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins listed one reason for Kevin Durant's decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder, noting that the two-time champion disliked the team's social media rules.

Perkins, who knows a thing or two about Twitter beefs, feels that Durant wasn't able to be himself in Oklahoma City.

“He left Oklahoma City because he got tired of basically not being able to be himself, because of team’s uptight view of social media,” Perkins said, via Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.

Though they're reportedly friends, Durant and Perkins have gone back and forth on Twitter in the past. In fact, Kendrick once called Kevin's decision to join the Golden State Warriors “the weakest move in NBA history.”

Durant announced his intentions to join the Warriors in July of 2016, leaving the Thunder and ending his on-court partnership with Russell Westbrook. It was a move that raised a lot of eyebrows around the league. Ultimately, though, Durant went on to win two championships with Golden State.

Now with the Nets, Durant is currently recovering from an Achilles injury. According to most accounts, the former No. 2 overall pick will be sidelined for the remainder of this season. However, there have been reports indicating that he might be open to participating in the 2020 Olympics.
