Friday’s game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Philadelphia 76ers went officially insane. Two overtimes were not enough to decide this game and just when you think this contest can’t get any more crazier, reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook ran the fastbreak at one point in the third overtime and punctuated the play with a vicious, posterizing dunk over Sixers forward Dario Saric. The dunk put the Thunder ahead by two points, and also re-energized a tired and weary Oklahoma City team.

Speaking of Saric, it was perhaps one of the ugliest sequences of his season. Before Westbrook turned on the boosters and sprinted down the floor to yam one on Saric’s face, the Croatian missed an awkward-looking three-point attempt at the other end of the court.

The Thunder would eventually take a 119-117 win, powered by Westbrook’s team-high 27 points on 10-of-33 shooting from the floor. Westbrook also finished the game with 18 assists and 15 rebounds for another triple-double. He also assisted on Andre Roberson’s game-winning basket. What can’t Westbrook do?

Westbrook and company don’t have plenty of time — and rest — to celebrate, however. The Thunder will travel to the Big Apple for a road game against the New York Knicks Saturday night.
