Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook took the blame for the Game 2 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers head-on following a 20-point defeat.

“I'll start with myself. I've got to be better. I'll take full responsibility for tonight,” said Westbrook after the game, according to Ben Golliver of The Washington Post. “The way I played was unacceptable. I'm gonna be better. I'm not worried one bit. My job is to come in there and make sure I lead our guys and make sure we have a chance to win the game.”

Much like he did in Game 1, which was highlighted by his refusal to answer questions from columnist Berry Tramel of The Oklahoman, Westbrook was peppered with questions of an underperforming Thunder team that just doesn't seem to have a way to contend against a better shooting team like the Blazers.

Westbrook had 14 points on 5-of-20 shooting, nine rebounds, and 11 assists, but his six turnovers and Paul George's five in the game accounted for 11 of the team's 16.

The OKC point guard struggled shooting the ball yet again, going 1-of-6 from deep, as his team shot a horrid 5-of-28 from beyond the arc — a recipe for trouble against a more efficient Blazers team that striped 13-of-32 from distance.

The Thunder is hoping the series could get a massive turnaround during the next two games at home, but they better hope the home rims treat them better after combining for a woeful 10-of-61 (16.4%) from deep in the last two games.
