This got heated up quickly in the game between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A clip of the action posted by Bleacher Report shows things getting chippy after the whistle. After Portland’s Ed Davis reached over the top of the Thunder’s Terrance Ferguson, the former seemed to have shoved the latter. Ferguson went down and Westbrook, in defense of his teammate, retaliated:

After the scuffle, Technical fouls were handed down to Davis, Evan Turner, Westbrook, and Ferguson. Davis was also called for an over-the-back foul.

However, it was the Blazers who came out on top in the end. They won the game 108-105. CJ McCollum contributed 34 points on 58.3 percent shooting, while his backcourt partner Damian Lillard finished with 24 points.

The Thunder, meanwhile, only got six points from Carmelo Anthony and 16 points from Paul George. Westbrook finished with 23 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.

McCollum and Lillard have led the Blazers to a 45-28 record which is good third in the West. Recently, they spoke with ESPN's Chris Haynes on their success. For McCollum, the Blazers are a legit title contender:

“I think the proof is in the pudding. You know, this is my fifth year in the league. And this is gonna be our fifth year making the playoffs. So that's one. Two is to continue to build on how we played the last five years. So getting more wins, getting 50 wins consistently, getting out of the first round, getting out of the second round.”

Lillard for his part said:

“I think we as good as any backcourt.”
