Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose is second among guards in Western Conference All-Star voting, trailing only Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, and Timberwolves starting point guard Jeff Teague says the fans have to keep voting for Rose.

Derrick Rose is a three-time All-Star, but the former MVP hasn’t made an All-Star team since 2012. Rose is well on his way to making it this year, though. He’s averaging 18.9 points per game for Minnesota and scored a career-high 50 points on Halloween against the Utah Jazz.

Jeff Teague says Rose is one of the coolest guys he’s ever been around and that the Chicago native has to make the All-Star team:

Derrick Rose has undergone four knee surgeries since becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls. He has been traded twice, waived once, and is on his second minimum contract.

Everyone loves a comeback story and Rose is a prime example of how hard work and perseverance can trump negativity. People thought Rose’s NBA career was over last season when the Jazz waived him. Now, he’s one of the front runners for the Sixth Man of the Year award and in contention to be an All-Star.
