The Minnesota Timberwolves made a huge splash this offseason by trading for Chicago Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler. Needless to say, Minnesota gave up quite a lot in order to acquire the three-time All Star.

As a result, the Timberwolves are still looking to fill out their roster before the start of the 2017-18 NBA season. Minnesota recently worked out a number of notable free agents such as Thomas Robinson, Trey Burke, and Anthony Morrow, according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders:

Minnesota parted ways with shooting guard Zach LaVine, point guard Kris Dunn, and the rights to rookie power forward Lauri Markkanen in the Butler trade. They also exchanged point guard Ricky Rubio for a protected first-round pick in 2018. That leaves plenty of space to fill up in their backcourt.

The Timberwolves have been plagued with poor three-point shooting for some time now. Last year's squad ranked among the league's worst when shooting from deep. Unfortunately, their current roster is no different as they still have a need for a legitimate shooter.

However, the pending status of small forward Shabazz Muhammad has likely put a damper on their roster plans while he continues to explore free agency for the time being.
