Scott Foster is one of the more infamous referees in the NBA today. Many players and fans attest that he is one of the worst referees in the game. However, during the Minnesota Timberwolves' game against the Golden State Warriors, the referee delivered one of the most hilarious moments in today's NBA season.

Timberwolves guard Jaylen Nowell was called for a foul by Scott Foster as he tried to contest a shot from Jonathan Kuminga. Nowell tried to plead his case to Foster, asking “That's a foul?”. The referee's reaction was priceless, as he delivered a savage clapback. (via Rob Perez)

It's not everyday you see referees respond to players complaining to them for their calls in this manner. Most often, the referees pretend that they don't hear the player, or talk to them calmly about their rationalization. Why Scott Foster chose this random Timberwolves game to deliver this savage two-liner is unknown, but the basketball world is thankful to him for this moment.

Foster may perhaps be well-known to NBA fans as the referee that seems to hate Chris Paul. One of the biggest talking points during Game 6 of the 2021 Finals was his addition to the reffing crew, given his history with CP3. Perhaps after this game, he'll gain another enemy in Timberwolves fans.

So, the big question: was this call really a foul on Nowell. It's hard to tell, but it does seem like the Timberwolves guard used his off arm to push Kuminga a little bit. Not that this call really mattered; the ‘Wolves would go on to destroy the struggling Warriors 119 – 99.
