It's no secret that Tottenham needs serious reinforcements this month in order to take them to the heights that Antonio Conte aspires. That being said, the club has taken a big step in doing so.

Per Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda, Spurs have made a €45 million bid for Porto standout Luis Diaz, who is known as the “Colombian Cristiano Ronaldo”:

Porto will have 48 hours to respond to Tottenham's offer for the player. Diaz, 25, is said to be very keen on a Premier League move after a couple of fine seasons in Portugal. He's been absolutely lethal this term for Porto, already scoring 16 goals and providing six assists in 28 appearances.

Diaz really made a name for himself last summer at the Copa America, netting four times in five games for Colombia, including arguably the goal of the tournament in the semifinals against Brazil:

Diaz's quality is shining through in Portugal and it certainly feels like he'd be a good signing for Tottenham given his hunger for scoring goals and picking out a pass. Liverpool had recently been linked with him as well, but their interest has cooled off.

Porto apparently believes he's worth more than €45 million and there is still the possibility they reject Spurs first offer. The North Londoners have also been linked with Wolves winger Adama Traore but it's unknown if they'd actually sign both players before the month concludes.
