The Minnesota Twins defeated the Chicago White Sox in an exhilarating fashion. Byron Buxton launched a moon shot to walk the game off in the 10th inning for his second home run of the day and sixth in 10 games this season.

The walk-off blast is another feather in Buxton's cap. The 28-year-old is posting a monster OPS of 1.361 with 13 hits (10 of which are extra-base hits) and 11 RBI so far this season. On top of being a stellar defender, the Twins' center fielder seems destined to make the first All-Star game of his career.

Following Buxton's walk-off homer, Twins shortstop Carlos Correa came in with a claim that Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and the rest of MLB's stars will question: that he is the best player in the game.

It is a lofty claim, for sure, but Buxton does have a legitimate case as the game's best player right now. Injuries have held him back far too often but when he is healthy, he is truly an elite, electrifying all-around player.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli agrees with Correa. He said that Buxton can do anything and is a beast at the plate and in the field.

The Twins have a record of 8-8 so far after their big offseason. With Correa yet to play his best ball, Minnesota is still a solid team that is improved from last season. If Byron  Buxton can avoid long-term injury, he could truly establish himself as a superstar and help the Twins get back to the playoffs.
