After the social media debacle Ty Lawson faced on Tuesday after announcing he was excited to potentially join the Shanxi Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association, only to say he hasn't signed in China a few minutes later — his agent, Larry Fox, took it upon himself to clear up the situation.

“Ty is weighing his options and no decision has yet been made,” Fox told Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype. “Several teams have expressed interest in Ty from China and there have been discussions and Ty has expressed mutual interest.”

Lawson had the doors close on him in Sacramento after the Kings drafted two point guards in De'Aaron Fox and Frank Mason III, then shut out any mentorship role out of the question with the consequent signing of George Hill early in the offseason.

The 5-foot-11 North Carolina product had a bounce-back season with the Kings after two years filled with legal issues and misconduct in the locker room, posting 9.9 points and 4.8 assists in a reserve role at 25.1 minutes per game.

The eight-year NBA veteran is the second-best available free agent point guard after the injury-riddled Derrick Rose.
