USA Basketball has recently named their 12-man roster for the first two FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying games. Similar to the FIBA AmeriCup tournament last September, G League players will represent the flag and help the country make it to the 2019 World Cup in China with its new format starting this year, according to the Associated Press via USA TODAY Sports.

NBA players are currently unavailable due to the ongoing season, but could still suit up for flag and country in the championships two years from now.

Heading the list of players is AmeriCup tournament MVP Jameel Warney, who will be joined by former NBA players currently playing in the G-League like Donald Sloan, Amile Jefferson, Elijah Millsap, Markel Brown, Jarell Eddie, Kennedy Meeks, Travis Wear, Larry Drew II, Reggie Hearn, Xavier Munford, and Semaj Christon, who is the only free agent in the lineup.

Jeff Van Gundy will once again be tasked to call the plays from the sidelines, and will bring a lot of experience to the team. He was successful last summer when he led Team USA to the gold medal in the AmeriCup tournament, as they went undefeated in five games.

Their first game will be played on November 23 in Orlando, Florida versus Puerto Rico, as the venue was changed because of the hurricane damage to the country. Three nights after, Team USA will host Mexico in Greensboro, North Carolina.
