USC basketball is retaining transfer Chibuzo Agbo for the 2024-25 season, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN. After looking into going pro, the 6-foot-7 wing has decided to stay with the Trojans after announcing his transfer there in April.

Eric Musselman is now taking over the USC program, which heads to the Big Ten and brings with it a new coach and remade roster as it looks to bounce back from its first losing season the 2018-19 campaign. One of his main transfer additions making the decision to stick around will make his first season away from Arkansas an easier transition.

Agbo tested the waters for the 2024 NBA Draft but is now getting the chance to be one of the biggest faces of USC basketball in the 2024-25 season.

After two seasons coming off the bench for Texas Tech, Agbo played two seasons as a starter at Boise State. Across those two seasons, he averaged 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game while shooting 42.6 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from deep (on 5.2 attempts per game) and 76.9 percent from the foul line. His experience, talent as a deep-range shooter and improvement as a scorer inside the arc will be great for USC to have on an almost entirely brand-new roster.

The Trojans are losing Isaiah Collier, Boogie Ellis and Bronny James to the draft. Collier, in particular, is a major loss for USC. The freshman guard was their leading playmaker and one of their top scorers. He and Ellis each averaged over 16 points per game. Fortunately, Agbo will have plenty of talent alongside him as he brings his high-level shooting to Los Angeles.

Agbo will team up with lone holdover Harrison Hornery; freshmen/top-100 prospects Isaiah Elohim and Jalen Shelley; and a load of transferring players that were among the best players in their respective conferences, including Kevin Patton Jr. from San Diego, Josh Cohen from UMass, Bryce Pope from UC San Diego, Saint Thomas from Northern Colorado and Matt Knowling from Yale. USC basketball is also getting Terrance Williams II from Michigan, one of its new Big Ten rivals.
