There were a lot of suggestions for LeBron James and his family regarding Bronny James' future. Some of them were just useless vitriol while others urged the young talent to find a college that suited him better than USC. But, a decision has been made regarding his NBA Draft status. It looks like even the Los Angeles Lakers legend could not help but root for this choice revolving around his son's future.

Bronny James is staying in the 2024 NBA Draft. This is despite some individuals like Alex Karaban, Caleb Love, and Johnell Davis making the choice to withdraw. It is so that they can play one more year in college. LeBron James was probably one of the first individuals to know about this. But, he still could not help but be proud of his son for making the tough decisions in his life. He even hyped up the prospective 2024 NBA Draft class member in his latest Instagram story.

“Let's get to it, Bronny!!!” he wrote while sharing Bronny James' decision to stay in the draft.

This might not at all be a bad call from the Lakers legends' son. Bronny has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the combine. He has been a steady riser on draft boards ever since. His more consistent shooting along with playing better due to the spacing made him shine a bit more. The fact that he also does not get outshadowed by guys like Boogie Ellis and Isaiah Collier at the guard spot really helps too.

In the past few weeks prior to the NBA Draft, his spot at the late first-round to mid-second round has been more and more solidified. If there are any drops in the lottery or the middle of the draft, he will surely be one of the biggest beneficiaries. But, just like his concern at USC, getting drafted early might not be the greatest because he will only thrive if he perfectly fits within the system.

Forgoing the Lakers legend's dream

Throughout his career, LeBron James has been consistently vocal about one thing. He really wants to play alongside Bronny James before he calls it a career. But, Bronny has emphasized that he will do whatever it takes to get picked in the NBA Draft even if it means not getting to play with his father. He noted that this was not his dream and it was his dad's.

So, this all just means that the two are likely going to be adversaries on the court whenever the regular season hits. However, that is still a big uncertainty heading into the offseason. He still needs to get picked and sign a contract. Then, there needs to be big flashes of his greatness in the Summer League. Meanwhile, he will also compete with other people for minutes in the rotation.

If he does not get cut before the 82 games start, Bronny still needs to retain that roster spot. This is all before he and his dad face each other. It's going to be a long year for the aspiring NBA player out of the USC basketball system.
