Utah football came into the season ranked #14 in the country ahead of their big season opener against unranked Florida football. Both teams met in the season opener last year as well, and Florida won a close one that featured a great quarterback matchup between Anthony Richardson and Cam Rising. Richardson is now in the NFL, and Rising is still with the Utes, but couldn't get the start because he is still recovering from an ACL tear that happened in last year's Rose Bowl game. Because of that, Bryson Barnes got the start for Utah, and he got his team off to an electric start.

After the Utah defense started the game off strong by forcing a three and out from the Gators, Bryson Barnes first pass went for a 70-yard touchdown to electrify the home crowd. That's sure to help the confidence in just his second career start. Utah fans were certainly concerned heading into this game with a big question mark at the most important position on the field, but that play likely eased some of the stress.

As the game continued, Utah began going with a two QB approach. Redshirt freshman Nate Johnson has been getting a lot of snaps as well. He is more of dual-threat QB that the Utes can bring out to keep the Florida defense honest as they have to respect his ability to run the football. Utah football fans are obviously hoping that their star Cam Rising will be back soon, but it looks like the Utes are in good hands before that happens.
