The Los Angeles Lakers enter Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals in high spirits Saturday night, but Charles Barkley may have sent those hopes crashing with yet another guarantee.

Barkley, the Hall of Famer, is a legend, an all-time great, and one of the most dominant forces to step on an NBA court. However, Chuck, the NBA on TNT analyst who also moonlights as a basketball fortune teller, is a whole different story.

The Lakers lead the Denver Nuggets, 3-1, in their series. A win on the night launches the storied franchise to their 32nd NBA Finals appearance. In spite of the absurd odds leaning towards the purple and gold, the 3-1 Nuggets pose a threat unlike no other.

After two rounds in the 2020 NBA playoffs, Denver has managed to overcome a couple of 3-1 deficits. No other team has accomplished such a feat in one postseason run, giving the Nuggets more than a puncher's chance against the Lakers.

Anthony Davis is nursing an ankle injury, but he will be in action for the Lakers. The All-Star forward anchors Los Angeles' dreaded big-man rotation that has given Nikola Jokic all sorts of problems over the past two games.

Another thing going for the Lakers is LeBron James' 14-0 record when his teams have held a 3-1 series advantage.

History aside, the numbers suggest a monster performance from the four-time MVP in Game 5 as he holds averages of 32.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game in two closeout matches for the Lakers this postseason, per NBA Stats.

This definitely bodes well for the Lakers—and Charles Barkley's—cause.
