If you want to hear someone give an honest, unfiltered, and hilarious take on things, Charles Barkley is one of the guys to watch. He's a basketball legend with NBA Hall-Of-Famer money, and he simply doesn't give a you-know-what — in a fun way, of course.

Thursday night, Sir Charles was one of the guests on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, and you can bet that he didn't disappoint. He told yet another funny story from his wild playing days with the Philadelphia 76ers:

“I got a call from my agent one morning and he said I think we got a deal — you're going to the [Los Angeles] Lakers. I wanna say [that this was] in the 90s or late 80s.

So me and two of my boys [went out for a drink]. This was about 11:30 during the day. I was so excited we started getting drunk at the middle of the day.

My agent called me back three hours later and said [that] the Sixers pulled out of the deal… and we got a game that night. I don't remember anything about that game. First of all, I was so pissed, but I was so drunk too.”

Obviously, the Chuckster made NBA fans quite curious with that story. Who was he supposed to be traded for? Why was it called off? How good would he be with the Lakers?

A lot of fortunes would've changed had that trade pushed through. If it was during the late 1980s, he would've had a big three with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson — assuming that he got traded for Byron Scott and/or James Worthy. That trio could've won one or two championships together, prevented the Isiah Thomas-led Detroit Pistons from winning getting a title, and could probably have made the Lakers strong playoff contenders until the mid-1990s.
