D’Angelo Russell hit the 3-point dagger with 1.8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Lakers a 70-69 win over the 76ers in last night's Las Vegas Summer League game.

Russell stole the limelight from the anticipated Ben Simmons versus Brandon Ingram rookie show with a dominant scoring performance. He was 8-of-20 from the field, with 22 points, five threes and four rebounds.

After bombing down the game winning shot, D'Angelo was interviewed by ESPNs J.A. Adande and when asked about the night's performance, he said:

“I played like shit… I played terrible. My teammates got me through this”.

Lakers fans are probably going to forgive young D’Angelo given his electrifying performance on the buzzer tonight. The NBA may not be that forgiving.

Back in 2004, Steve Smith of the Houston Rockets was fined $25,000 for a similar swearing incident during a halftime ESPN interview.

More recently Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder was fined $25,000 for directing inappropriate language towards a fan in their Game 4 playoff win over the Dallas Mavericks in April.

Manners aside, it was it a great night for the 2015 second overall draft pick: A great bomb on the court when it counted, immediately followed up with the “S” bomb on national television. Either way, they were both fun to watch.
