LaMelo Ball, as expected, didn't have to wait long to hear his name called in the 2020 NBA Draft, with the Charlotte Hornets selecting him with the No. 3 overall pick. After he was drafted by the Hornets, Ball spoke about the potential of him being the franchise player in Charlotte.

Coming into the draft, LaMelo Ball was one of the most highly-regarded prospects. Despite taking an unusual path to the NBA, having played in Lithuania and Australia instead of college, Ball's playmaking ability as a 6-foot-7 guard enticed teams.

Seeing that he comes from a family with basketball lineage, Ball has been under the spotlight for most of his life. While some believe the pressure of him being in the Ball family could be too much for him, the 19-year-old believes it has prepared him for this moment.

Despite the likes of Devonte' Graham, Terry Rozier, and Miles Bridges on the Hornets, LaMelo Ball is confident that he can help Charlotte become a winning franchise.
