Philadelphia 76ers point guard T.J. McConnell and Atlanta Hawks swingman Justin Anderson were teammates last season on the Sixers and are still close friends.

That's why McConnell was able to get away with punching Anderson during the Sixers' loss to the Hawks on Friday. Of course, it wasn't a real punch. More of a friendly, “Hey I just hit a 3-pointer right in front of your bench,” tap by T.J.:

Justin Anderson and the Hawks ultimately got the last laugh, as Atlanta defeated Philly by a final score of 123-121. The Hawks are now 13-29 on the year, while the Sixers dropped to 27-16.

T.J. McConnell finished with 16 points, three rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes of action. Justin Anderson, meanwhile, only played 11 minutes and failed to get on the scoreboard. The lefty did grab three rebounds and rack up one assist.

This is a pretty bad loss for a Sixers team that many believe can win the Eastern Conference this season. Yes, Philly superstar big man Joel Embiid didn't play in this game, but Jimmy Butler and Ben Simmons did and the two stars, along with McConnell, should have been more than enough to beat a lowly Hawks team.

The only fun moment of the evening came when McConnell slapped Anderson, though.
