Early on in the contest including the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, things got heated when Marcus Morris pushed Jaylen Brown to the side in the huddle. There seemed like some kind of unsolved animosity between the two, but it quickly de-escalated.

The Celtics have had chemistry problems all season longs. It seems that the play of Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown had caused the team to be upset.  They frequently play outside of the offense and ill-advised shots.

Kyrie Irving talked a few weeks back about the struggles the Celtics have been having, per Clevis Murray of The Athletic:

“I think everyone can see that we’ve obviously had some inconsistencies regarding our play, so I think it was just time to address it. It’s an everyday job, I’ve been saying it since the beginning of the season. It’s not going to look pretty, it’s not going to look great at all times. The biggest thing for me is just patience and I think also just being honest with each one another in just how we feel. You know, being able to talk to one another without anybody taking it personal.”

Perhaps whatever Brown had said this evening to Morris to upset him was personal. Moving forward, the team needs to work on their communication skills so that they can have good team chemistry.

On Thursday, the Celtics eventually lost to the Miami Heat by a score of 115-99. Irving had 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists on the evening. Marcus Morris had 17 points and six rebounds. However, Brown only had two points and shot one of five from the field.

The Celtics are now 25-16 on the season and currently sit 5th in the NBA's Eastern Conference. They will face off next against the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center.
