Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen missed the first game of his NFL career last Thursday due to a hamstring injury, but Thielen is hopeful that he can play against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend:

“I feel good, I feel like it’s progressed,” Thielen said, according to Eric Smith of the Vikings' team website. “I’ll know more after practice, and I’ll be able to kind of judge where I’m at after practice today, and Friday, Saturday and really, Sunday before the game.”

The Vikings' offense didn't look quite the same without Thielen in Week 8, mustering just 19 points, but Minnesota was still able to come away with a 10-point win over the lowly Washington Redskins to improve to 6-2.

It wasn't pretty, but Thielen was proud of his teammates:

“The guys played awesome, so it was fun to watch them,” Thielen said. “It was obviously a different lens than I’m used to. But there’s obviously a lot of positives I can take from it personally and as a position group and as a team,” Thielen added. “I’d rather be out there playing. But at the same time, I have to make sure I’m doing my role depending on whether I’m playing in the game or not.”

In seven games this season, Thielen has logged 27 catches for 391 yards and six touchdowns.

The 29-year-old is now in his sixth NFL season, all of them coming with the Vikings. An undrafted free agent out of Minnesota State, Thielen is coming off of back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances, most recently hauling in 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine scores in 2018.
