The Minnesota Vikings will try to bounce back in 2024. Minnesota came into 2023 with big hopes but struggled in a few games to start the season. They lost both Kirk Cousins and T.J. Hockenson to major injuries throughout the season, starting their decline. The Vikings may be without Kirk Cousins moving forward, but they are hopeful to get T.J. Hockenson back in the fold ASAP. Hockenson recently provided an optimistic update on his recovery.

“They haven't really put a timeline on it,” Hockenson said on NFL Network. “We're just kinda taking it day by day, week by week, there's just so many variables that you can go through in this process. I'm doing really good right now. We're attacking each process. I'm attacking each one and it's been awesome, the progression has been incredible.”

Hockenson is recovery from tearing his ACL and MCL in a Week 16 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Even with a timetable currently unavailable, Hockenson is hopeful he'll be able to play in his first international game.

“Going overseas, expanding the league and the NFL and the fanbase, across, not just the nation,” he said. “But the world is just super exciting for the Minnesota Vikings.”

Hockenson also spoke on Kirk Cousins, who will be suiting up for the Falcons in 2024.

“It's gonna be for sure weird to see Kirko in a Falcons jersey,” Hockenson said.

Cousins is recovering from his own major injury.

“He's one of those guys that's going to attack his rehab, as well,” Hockenson said. “He's gonna come back and be the same player he was [before] he was hurt. It's gonna be, obviously a challenge to go up against him. But we're in purple now and he's gonna be on the other side, so we'll treat him as so.”

The Vikings have a challenging schedule ahead of them in 2024.

The NFC North drew the AFC South (Titans, Texans, Colts, Jaguars) and NFC West (Cardinals, Seahawks, 49ers, Rams) to play round robin. The Vikings will face all teams from those divisions one time in the regular season.

Minnesota travels to London in Week 5 to take on the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They return after playing in the same stadium in 2022.

The Vikings also get primetime games in Week 8 (Thursday Night Football at Rams) and Week 15 (Monday Night Football vs Bears).

Minnesota plays the Detroit Lions in Week 18, which is currently schedule as TBD. This is because the NFL likes to flex playoff-relevant games into primetime in Week 18, so they leave the schedule open for the sake of flexibility.

Minnesota's bye week comes early in the season at Week 6.

Considering Hockenson's injury situation, it will be important for Minnesota to start off hot to stay in the thick of the NFC playoff race. This could be difficult with early-season matchups against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2, Houston Texans in Week 3, and the Green Bay Packers in Week 4.

The fall cannot get here soon enough.
