Chase Center will be the new home of the Golden State Warriors starting next season, and while it's still a few touches away from completion, it is expected to boast a set of hi-technology equipment and facilities, including the massive scoreboard, which is now being dubbed as the largest in the entire NBA, according to The Athletic's Anthony Slater.
The dimensions given for the scoreboard: 82 feet, 9 inches by 52 feet, 8 inches, center-hung all the way around for 9,699 square feet, the largest video board in the league. It towers over the court and nearly stretches as long as it.
Here's a glimpse of how the video board will look like for fans who will watch near courtside.
And this is how it will look like for fans who will watch from the upper levels of the arena.
According to the report, the scoreboard will feature more than just the basic team and player statistics, which should excite extreme hoop junkies out there.
Along with the typical metrics (points, rebounds, assists), a player’s box score will include his 2-point and 3-point percentage. In the team section, they’ve added a “Four Factors” box — this is where it gets real nerdy — updating fans on each side’s efficiency field goal percentage, turnover percentage, offensive rebound rate and free throw rate.
Some areas of the Chase Center, including the weight room, are still not done, but the arena is expected to be 100 percent completed before the start of the Warriors' training camp in mid-September.
Expect more revelations about the arena's facilities and features within the next couple of weeks.
