One of the biggest rivalries in today's NBA is that of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers. While these two may have a buddy-buddy type of relationship, there's no denying that there's always that intense competitive spirit between them whenever they face off against each other on the court.

The Curry and LeBron rivalry was magnified by the fact that they faced off in the NBA Finals four years in a row. Steph and the Dubs won three out of those four Finals meetings, but as of right now, LeBron still has more rings than Curry.

In a recent appearance on 95.7 The Game, Warriors owner Joe Lacob admitted that for his part, he hopes Curry is able to reach the same heights LeBron has in terms of winning championships:

“How many championships does LeBron have? [4] Steph has? [3] I really wanna see Steph get into that pantheon, at least equal to him. Nothing against him…” Lacob said (h/t TheWarriorsTalk on Twitter).

LeBron won his fourth and most recent title in 2020 with the Lakers. That year, Curry was forced to sit out virtually the entire season due to injury.

The narrative is much different this year, though, at least to start the season. LeBron's new-look Lakers have struggled mightily early on while Curry and Co. have been absolutely dominant. The Warriors are 10-1 to open the new campaign and at this point, there are no signs of the Dubs slowing down anytime soon.
