With Stephen Curry out, along with several key backcourt guys, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr will look to have Kevin Durant and Draymond Green handle point guard duties.

Kerr was recently asked about the team's guard situation. It's been apparent that the 6-foot-11 Durant and the 6-foot-7 Green have been bringing the ball up court and orchestrating the offense. As reported by Mark Medina of The Mercury News, Kerr likes the way the two push the ball up:

“I love the way they push the ball. They play with pace. They push the ball, made or missed, up the floor. It sets up the tone for our offense and that's what we're looking for is to keep that pace going.”

Yet with Curry on the floor, Kerr has always mixed up his lineups. In today's NBA, especially with the Warriors, the roles seem to have been jumbled all over. Green, for example, is a natural forward yet some have called him a point-forward for his ability to run the offense effectively.

On the other hand, while Curry is the team's point guard, he doesn't always bring the ball up. He doesn't always rack up the assists. Kerr instead utilizes his shooting ability and runs plays for him off the ball.

The Warriors' offensive playbook is a very versatile one. It seems in tune to the skills and talents of their roster. It doesn't matter if Curry is playing or not. With Kerr's system, anybody should be ready to play. Everybody should be ready to execute when their number is called.
