Fans still bring up the point guard that was robbed of the NBA Finals MVP award – and not it's not Jeremy Lin on the 2019 championship winning Toronto Raptors. Stephen Curry has three championship rings with the Golden State Warriors and no Bill Russell trophy to show for it.

Kevin Durant rightfully won both awards in 2017 and 2018, but 2015 has been debated as one that should have gone to Steph Curry.

Jeremy Lin, who started off his career playing alongside Curry in Golden State, sounded off after the Warriors' Game 1 loss to the Boston Celtics. He voiced his support for his one-time teammate to come back and win the title and finally claim a Finals MVP trophy, but also reiterated that it's not the end of the world if he doesn't.

I hope Steph Curry wins the championship and finals MVP. But make no mistake about it, he does NOT need a finals MVP to validate his career by any means

Missing out on an Finals MVP trophy doesn't sting as bad for someone like Stephen Curry, who has two actual MVP awards in his trophy case.

What would sting would be to miss out on a chance to win his fourth NBA title. But there's still a lot of basketball left to be played to get out of the 0-1 hole.
