Stephen Curry might be the main attraction for the fans of the Golden State Warriors in the NBA All-Star Weekend, but Juan Toscano-Anderson also had his fair time in the spotlight after finishing as runner-up in the Slam Dunk Contest last Saturday.

JTA was initially apprehensive about joining, but Warriors forward Draymond Green convinced him to give it a go. Toscano-Anderson put up a valiant effort against his more popular opponents, even paying homage to former Warriors star and two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion Jason Richardson.

Although JTA didn't complete the dunk, he said he has zero regrets about participating (via Washington Post's Ben Golliver).

“I think (Richardson was) the last Warriors player to be in the Dunk Contest. Obviously I feel a little bummed because I didn’t convert the dunk, but whatever. I came here to have fun, and that’s what I did.”

The 28-year-old Toscano-Anderson fell short of the title, losing to New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin. Many were also bummed about the Slam Dunk Contest, with some even saying it was the worst in history.

Regardless, JTA, for sure, only earned more admiration from the Warriors and their fans. He's one of the greatest success stories in the NBA in recent years. From being undrafted in 2015 to plying his trade in various leagues abroad to being part of the NBA All-Star Weekend.

No one can get bummed about that.
