Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant will take on some of his old teammates as the Nets prepare to face the Golden State Warriors on NBA Opening Night.

While Durant has said he does not get extra fired up playing against his old teams, he did admit to Keith Burke of NBC Sports Bay Area's Dubs Talk podcast he misses some of the Dubs players he shared the court with:

“Definitely miss my guys, I can't lie,” Durant said, via Brian Witt of NBC Sports Bay Area. “I miss being around, I miss just seeing the guys. Three years, and we've been through some battles. I definitely think about the guys and wonder how they're doing and wonder how their families are doing, health — all that stuff — cuz we're brothers.”

Durant also noted Dubs personnel will always be part of his “family” after all the experiences they shared together.

There are multiple sides to Durant's tenure with the Warriors. The former league MVP won a pair of championships with Golden State, with the Dubs cementing their place as one of the most dominant dynasties in league history.

However, while Durant had a closeness with teammates, he previously said he felt like the “other” in the group consisting of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. There was plenty of noise about a beef with Green.

The signs were pointing to Durant's exit from the Bay Area in the summer of 2019, and he eventually formed a new superstar partnership with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn.

Durant will line up against Curry and the Warriors as an opponent Tuesday, but he will always have fond memories of his days in Golden State.
