In the loss against the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney suffered an ankle injury that could lead him to miss at least two weeks.
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Looney will be re-evaluated in two weeks, leaving the Dubs to wonder who will take his spot in the coming games.
The Warriors will look to rookie James Wiseman to take over Looney's responsibilities until he recovers. Though Wiseman himself has been dealing with a a wrist injury that initially called for him to miss between seven to 10 days, his recovery may be sped up in order to fill the center position.
Head coach Steve Kerr may also look at Draymond Green and Eric Paschall to play more minutes now with Looney gone, but the Warriors risk getting out-rebounded with the small-ball tactic. After all, Golden State's rebounding was already abysmal with Looney and Wiseman in the lineup earlier in the season.
If the team doesn't get Wiseman back as soon as possible, the rebounding woes could most definitely prove to be a factor in the Warriors' downfall to the bottom of the Western Conference.
Despite all of the injuries the Warriors have faced this season, Stephen Curry has led his team to an impressive 11-10 record, positioning them right behind the Houston Rockets for the eighth seed. The Dubs will need Wiseman, as well as Green and Paschall, to step up and out-board their opponents if they want to avoid falling off far from the postseason picture.
