Klay Thompson struggled for the most part in his return to the Golden State Warriors in 2021-22, but he wanted to remind everyone that he's coming off an injury and didn't have a full offseason to get his body ready.
While Thompson's performance in the 2022 playoffs has been criticized by some, especially since he was largely non-impactful in the NBA Finals, the Warriors sharpshooter highlighted that the best is yet to come for him.
Remember: he is coming off an injury layoff that sidelined him for more than two years. Now that he's fully healthy again and feeling more confident than ever after winning the 2022 NBA title with the Warriors, the NBA better be ready.
“I think the best still is yet to come fellas,” Thompson said during his appearance on the Point Forward podcast of Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner, per NBC Sports. “I haven't had an offseason just to train and just get better, because I had to build my body up so much the past two years.”

Klay Thompson definitely has every reason to believe he'll play better come 2022-23. After all, he needed some time to get back to his usual rhythm after returning to play in early January.
While the 32-year-old was not as impactful as he used to be in the postseason, he still made solid contributions and saved the Warriors at times. Who could forget “Game 6” Klay in the second round against the Memphis Grizzlies?
Thompson still has a lot of gas left in the tank, and while what he showed in recent months were only short bursts, the NBA better not underestimate the four-time champion.
